This mask has ancient origins. In ancient Rome he was a comic character of the theater, then over the years he evolved into those characters of the Art Comedy who represent the “servants”. The name “Zanni” comes from Giannni and identified the poor and foolish servant who, for a living, worked in the service of merchants. Our Zanni masks feature a long nose and several fancy decorations that are inspired by the card game and use different materials such as gold leaf.
