Description
The White Bautta Mask…
The “bautta” was a mask typically used in the past during the Venice Carnival. It was a hood that covered the head up to the shoulders, was made of silk, and left only the face uncovered. Mask and “bautta” were held together by the hat called “tricorn”, which was usually never removed. This disguise was so common that it was called a habit and wearing at least the mask, it had become a widespread use of all.
